The Northern Promise will be a collaboration between the four Northern BC Public post-secondary institutions, Coast Mountain College, College of New Caledonia, Northern Lights College and the University of Northern British Columbia, with Northern Lights College taking the lead on the project.
The Canada Learning Bond (CLB) was established in 2004 by the Federal Government as an incentive program to encourage families to save for their children’s future. Eligible families can receive up to $2000.00 in funding. Unfortunately, approximately 75 million dollars in low-income families are not accessing Northern BC.
Ultimately the goal is to mobilize these funds out of Ottawa and into Northern BC!

- $100 for each year the child continues to be eligible (up to and including the benefit year in which they turn 15) for a total benefit of $2000
